Family Pics 2009

My neighbor Hillary took our pictures last week. I LOVE how they turned out! They really capture the boys personalities! Thanks again Hill- hhormanphotography.blogspot.com

Halloween 2009

Halloween this year was pretty low key. On Friday, Tucker had his school party so the boys dressed up for that. We took advantage of the boys being dressed up and went trick-or-treating to my grandparents. That night we went to trunk-or-treat at the church. Boston, Dalton, Peyton, and Kayton all came too. On Saturday- the actual Halloween- we had our family pictures taken, went to lunch, then took the boys to my mom's to trick or treat. Brett and I went to the Utah game and the boys went trick or treating with Jessica and Boston. I must say- I am thinking they are the cutest Buzz Lightyear and Woody you have EVER seen!

Non-Blogworthy Randomness

I have been feeling guilty for not updating my blog since our trip to Texas. We haven't had anything "blog-worthy." Here is and update on some of the events from the past month or so:

* Camden had his second surgery of the year on September 18th. He had a hernia that had to be removed. I hope that is all the surgeries for him for a very long time!
*General Conference: Growing up I always dreaded Conference weekend. Now I look forward to it for weeks before it actually gets here. I love to hear counsel from the leaders of the church- especially the Prophet- and there isn't anything that compares to church in your jammies!
*College Football- Brett has season tickets to the BYU games and we love to watch any game we can get on the TV, so our weekends have been pretty busy ever since the beginning of September and will continue to be that way at least until after Thanksgving. We wouldn't have it any other way. We went to the Weber State game a few weeks ago to cheer on my cousin Nick and Camden has been obsessed with football ever since! He loves it as much as his daddy! If a commercial comes on during the games he hands Brett the remote so that he can turn football back on. He doesn't mess around! He runs around during the games yelling "defense, defense" and his newest trick is to signal touchdown! He is too much fun! btw: GO UTES!!
*Bekah's baby shower! We are expecting a new baby GIRL in the Hales family in about 4 weeks! We can't wait for baby Dalice to get here so we can start spoiling her. We don't know what to do with girl babies in the Hales family- good thing I have had some practice spoiling girls from my Blood family nieces!
*Deer Hunt- We hadn't planned on going to Angle for the hunt this year. Brett didn't get a deer tag and the weekend was already going to be a little bit crazy. Brett's dad a had a little mishap on the hunt and Brett felt like we needed to go down and see if there was anything we could do to help him. I really think he was feeling bad about not going hunting and jumped at the opportunity to go. He spent the day hunting with Brook, Brandon, and Tucker while Camden and I hung out at his grandparents with Kerry and Jackie. It was a quick day trip but Tucker enjoyed his first of what I am sure will be many hunts to come.

That about sums up the past few weeks for our family and the next few are going to be just as crazy (think: Halloween, girls weekend- NO KIDS!, HAWAII- NO KIDS!, Thanksgiving, and BYU v UTAH!). Hopefully I will be better about keeping up on the fun as it comes our way!

****Sorry there aren't any pictures! I really don't like to have posts with out pictures but the camera got left in the car on the hunt so I don't have any pictures to download. Hopefully I will get it back soon and then I can add pictures!

There's No Place Like Home...

We just got home from vacation. I don't know if you can call it a vacation because we are worn out! We went to Fort Worth, Texas to visit family and friends, eat LOTS of yummy food, go to a Texas Rangers baseball game, and most importantly (at least to my husband) go to the BYU v OU football game at the new, unbelievable Dallas Cowboys stadium.
We left Wednesday morning and flew with two small boys- not an easy task. They were angels on the plane and LOVED flying! Thanks to my parents to helped keep them entertained and made sure Camden slept at least through part of the journey!
First on the agenda was a major league baseball game. We LOVE the Texas Rangers and it was fun to share a game with our boys. They loved it too. Tucker had fun batting and pitching in the kids zone they have and most importantly we got our ice cream in a baseball helmet. A definite highlight of the trip for Tucker. The boys were exhausted from a day of traveling but they were troopers and the game was a lot of fun! Not to mention the Rangers got a victory over the Blue Jays! We started eating the WONDERFUL food that Texas has to offer the minute we got off the plane. Some of the places that we ate include Papasitos Cantina, Spring Creek BBQ, Saltgrass Steakhouse, Hard Eight Pit BBQ, Ruths Chris Steakhouse... Wow I think I gained more weight just looking at the list. I can't forget to include the Blue Bell Ice Cream that we enjoyed more than once. All I can say is it is a good thing I don't live there anymore. I would be much larger than I already am!!!
We made a stop at the Fort Worth Sockyards, Fort Worth Water Gardens, and of course payed homage to the Texas Wesleyan Law School. Brett doesn't have any fond memories of that place but it was fun for the boys to see where he went to Law School. The only thing we didn't find time to do was the Fort Worth Zoo so that Tucker could see a real, live armadillo. Somehow he got it in his head that everyone in Texas has armadillos for pets- kind of like a dog. He really wanted to see one that was alive. We didn't find one but he settled for a stuffed armadillo-thanks Jennifer!!- and a bobble head armadillo that is really a little creepy but he LOVES it and that is all that matters.
All of this excitement was just leading up to the BIG GAME. Brett is a HUGE BYU fan- and while I am not a BYU fan I can support my husband. We got tickets on the 14th row in the new Cowboys Stadium- not expecting BYU to win- just hoping they would show up. The stadium did not disappoint and the game was AMAZING. It was so fun to be a part of it and to watch my boys enjoying themselves- especially Brett. He hurt one of his vocal chords he cheered and screamed SO loud! Once we got over the $30 parking and $10 cheese steak sandwich we would agree that the game was TOTALLY worth it!

The trip was a whirlwind and we are tired but I wouldn't trade that for the memories we made on a real family vacation! While we are so grateful to be home and getting back into our routine this was definitely a trip we will never forget!
