St. George {Getaway}

The boys and I got back from spending ten days in St. George last Sunday. The weather didn't exactly cooperate with us but we had a wonderful time anyway! The first three days we stayed with the Corbin's at their Grandma's St. George House. We love to get together with them and we had a blast (minus Brett)! We took the kids swimming at the Washington City Pool and the kids could have swam for hours! Except for Camden- it was nap time and he crashed pool side! (Move over Baywatch- here comes Tucker!)
We also went to Jumpin' Jacks-a fun bounce house place- twice- but I don't have any pictures. Just know it was a hit with the kiddos!
I can't forget to include the pictures of the aftermath from the Nap with Gum! UGH! It has finally come off his skin and his favorite blanket! Yes, he has had gum since then but I am constantly asking him where it is so I don't forget he is chewing it!

Once the Corbin's left for home on Tuesday we moved in with Aunt Brook and Uncle Rich. They were so nice to let us invade on their normally clean, quiet house! We made ourselves at home and hope they will let us come back one day! Maybe once they stop finding Trix in the couch cushions!
My boys missed their Daddy SO bad! Camden woke up crying for him every morning! We talked him into coming down to spend the last couple days of our trip with us. He flew down Friday night and him being there definitely completed our trip!
Saturday morning Brett's sisters ran their first half marathon. We were their cheerleaders. Plus Grandma Jackie, Grandpa Kerry, Uncle Rich, and Kayton who were not with us for this picture!They ran the whole thing and we are quite impressed! Once they were all rested up we took the kids bowling. Bowling is always a hit with our kids.
Sunday morning we woke up to sunshine and blue skies- just in time for us to head for home! It was sure nice to be back in our own beds and Camden was relieved to see that Handy Manny and the Tools were still here!
I woke up Monday morning with the worst sore throat EVER!! Brett sent me right to instacare. I had my first ever case of strep throat. I have been miserable. Today is the first day I actually feel like myself again. I hope I don't ever get strep again!!
We are planning to go back to St. George in March but don't tell Mother Nature that!! We would like to actually see the sun while we are there!!

{Life} Simplified

The need for a new post has been weighing heavy on my mind but I haven't felt like I have anything to blog about. We decided to simplify our lives in 2010- stay home more, spend less money... I also got a new camera for Christmas and have been trying to have the camera available to capture the little moments. Here are some pictures we have taken as a result! We rang in the new year with some of our favorite neighbors- well we almost rang in the new year with neighbors- Camden made it until about 11:45. We celebrated at midnight with Tucker at home.We went to Dalice's baby blessing. It was a fun day with family and Dalice looked ADORABLE! I have also been babysitting her once a week while John and Bekah are at work. We are having so much fun with a little tiny baby girl! My boys can't get enough of Dalice!We have been watching a lot of TV- what can I say it means I might get a shower, a workout, a new blog post, or maybe just a few quiet moments!We have been pirates. Camden has been obsessed with pirates lately except for that he does not like them! When I tell him Daddy is home he says "Daddy, Pirate, Scared." Brett made everyone dress up like pirates so that Camden wouldn't think he is so scary! ARRGH!We have been playing in the snow! The last couple of days it has been nice enough and the snow has melted enough that it is soft again so I let the boys go out to play. Camden wasn't a big fan of being in the cold but I think Tucker would sleep out in the cold if I would let him! Today I finally gave in while Camden was napping and helped Tucker build a snowman. The snow was the texture of a snow cone and wasn't sticking together very good. It was Tucker's idea to use his Mr. Potato Head pieces to make the face because nothing else was sticking. I think our snowman turned out pretty cute! The best part is that Tucker is SO proud of his work!

Those who know me well probably thought I could never become a home body. I must say I am enjoying the simplified version of my life and just might be able to keep this up!

2010

Who would have thought we would ever see 2010. The world was going to end in 2000. Remember that?!?! Well here we are. 2009 is behind us and we are looking forward to 2010 with new resolve. This year I will stick to diet and exercise- my children will cooperate and get along with each other- I will be a better wife and mother. The list could go on and on. I wish that I could say all of those things are going to happen- but I am realistic. We live day to day here. Our New Years Resolutions won't even last a day! Here's to 2010- trying a little more each day to be better than I was yesterday. Hope you all have a wonderful 2010!

Wordless Wednesday- The Magic of Christmas
